The mindset of grace is a mindset of provision. That is, when we see some problem (a Goliath) that needs solving, we look at it like this: the Lord will provide the solution.

Notice that David said to Goliath: “This day the LORD will DELIVER you into my hand…” Although David lived under the law, his mindset was a mindset of grace. “Paul, but wasn’t it David who killed him?” Yes, David did, but only after the Lord had delivered Goliath into his hand. Try hitting a bullseye with a pebble from a long way off, and on the first try too — never mind killing a giant.

And when we think like this about any Goliaths (problems that need solving), we will always abide in rest, believing that the battle is not ours but the Lord’s, and how He solves it is on His mighty shoulders. After all, He is mightier than we are, isn’t He? And the Lord loves us far more than we even love ourselves.
